ABOUT

Autonomics is a consulting firm specialised in the economics of electric and autonomous vehicles in logistics.

If you are considering replacing conventional vehicles for an operation at your site by autonomous vehicles, our services will help you shed light on the economics of this change.

Autonomous vehicles promise the complete or partial removal of the human operator, albeit at a higher purchase cost. However, the introduction of autonomous vehicles in an operation may modify the operation, changing the operating costs. Thus, a relevant economic analysis must consider not only the different costs associated with the different vehicles, but also the change in the costs associated with the change in the operational process.

Autonomics models the costs associated with both the change in the vehicles and the change in the operational process. Simulating operations in Python, using algorithmic optimisation and deploying Artificial Intelligence, Autonomics offers the following services:

Led by PhDs, the team at Autonomics has offered consulting services to groupes like Renault and consulted for multimillion projects for the European Union (AWARD-H2020).

Kartik Varma

PhD, Applied Economics

M.Sc, Economics and Psychology

B.Tech, Mechatronics

Kartik Varma, trained as an Engineer, holds a PhD in the economic comparison of different vehicles for logistics, focussing on comparing the costs od different alternatives.

For his PhD, titled 'The Business Case for Autonomous Deliveries: Does it Exist? An Economic Analysis of Autonomous Vehicle Technology for Last Mile Deliveries', he invented a novel methodology integrating operations research, engineering, psyhcology, and economics, which permitted the economic comparison of different vehicle technologies for logistics.

He has previously worked with Groupe Renault, The French Institute for the Science and Technology of Transports, and the European Union, consulting for the AWARD H-2020 project.
